TASK 4 FINAL OUTCOME
Progress for Final Outcome
I wanted to write a long progress on how my final prototype came about.
First, let me show you my final project's hierarchy:
In my last assignment, I mentioned in my video that I will be working on WalkMode for the second feature FamiliAR App, however, I couldn't do so as I realised in the end what I wanted was a marker based Ground Plane setup, and not Mid Air. I didn't have a LiDAR device so I proceeded to add an additional feature called Countdown UI (you can select how long you want your meditation to be) and finish up the other mini feature, Wellness Check.
Wellness Check had 4 quadrants of feelings that users could click on and feel their emotions validated.
Users then could either choose to exit or to head to Countdown UI and stillMode repeats.
ALL UI FOR FAMILIAR APP:
STILL MODE UI:
ANALYSIS OF ERROR (No Success)
However, as I was finalising and proceeding to build the project, I accidentally chose my root folder to build instead of a separate folder, and it "replaced" all the files, including the backups to its existence.
I tried to scrape as much scripts as I could from my conversations with AI, but because I had a looping script, things got harder and harder to track.
I was supposed to have more scripts, but I couldn't continue as they all started overlapping and the names were changingin the end, I'm left with a file that has pressable buttons, but the loop and the experience is not showing.

I do have a zip file link to my google drive, however at play it will only manage to go after countdown UI button confirm is pressed.
I will still try to fix the file as much as I can, but for now the end result will be the same video as I have of my prototype:

REFLECTIONS
I spent a lot of time working on the final outcome, from trying to create WalkMode to failing, then ultimately deciding to just enhance what I have + a UI feature. I worked with chatGPT so hard that getting a reply from that specific conversation takes around 1 minute to load for its responsive because of how much work we've done together. So when my files vanished, I really tried getting it back, but it started to hallucinate and generated keywords that didn't match my previous scripts. I'm still grateful of any that I could manage a little bit however, and will still continue working on it as much as I can as I really want this to work.
I just want to take this opportunity to both apologise and thank Mr Razif for his efforts in class, because I learned so much from this module. I actually really enjoy scripting if it wasn't for the error I made while working on it. I also enjoyed watching his livestreams and following the tutorials. It is such a shame that I couldn't make my FamiliAR app to work right now.
To anyone reading this blog for fun or for reference, here is my advice for you if you're using / building in Unity:

To anyone reading this blog for fun or for reference, here is my advice for you if you're using / building in Unity:
- always keep build files separate!!!!!
- always have a zip file of the project somewhere else so if you didn't save + save project + save scene, you can get it back
- screenshot your hierarchy so you know how to arrange/rearrange if file crashes!
- try to sync with github so you can still retrieve the zip file online
- don't stare at code for too long it will make you go crazy!
- learn that things might fail and crash even if you did everything well :')
Thank you for reading!
