REFLECTIONS
Working on Assignment 4 was a dynamic and iterative process that pushed me to balance user empathy, business goals, and technical feasibility. One of the biggest shifts came when a new lecturer restructured the expectations, moving us toward a more research-driven and UX-centred process. This challenged me to go deeper with interviews, affinity mapping, and persona development, which helped clarify user motivations and frustrations beyond surface-level assumptions.
Throughout the process, I realized how essential it is to let user needs lead design direction, especially in multi-regional apps like Donki’s, where personas like foreign students, event-driven fans, and budget-conscious planners all expect different forms of convenience. Defining clear user journeys with actual quotes allowed me to build more grounded opportunities and a focused MVP.
Tools like the MoSCoW matrix and Impact vs Effort grid helped me prioritize what matters most in the prototype and not just from a user perspective, but also from a realistic project management lens. Translating all that into a working prototype with Figma’s AI tools was both exciting and validating. It showed how structured UX thinking can lead to smart, scalable interface ideas.
In reflection, this assignment taught me how each choice can affect user trust, business goals, and emotional resonance. I feel more confident in my ability to bridge research, logic, and creative thinking into something tangible.
