TASK 1: CREATING E-PORTFOLIO

Design #1:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1109081845723966907/

Description: Primary colors represent the main colors in life, showing importance and varieties of the subject in this poster. A very straightforward movie poster which communicates the life of the subject, and how anxious/uncomfortable they look. I chose this poster because I love primary/bold colors.

Design #2:

Description: The picture in this poster gives out such a raw feeling, you can see the shine of the lipstick. Though the title of the font is not really legible (I read it as “claimable, Camille,) but it shows the nature of this woman, making the viewer more intrigued. I chose this because the raw feelings of the picture spoke out to me, luring me to read the subtext to find out the context.

Design #3:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1109081845723966506/

Description:

Simplicity at its finest, the bold color with the right hues makes the viewer read with alert. This poster enables viewers to experience fun, nostalgia, and definitely more focused. The flatlays and the edgy shapes also express that. I chose this as it’s similar to my design style, where I love using bold colors to express myself.

Design #4:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1109081845723966497/

Description:

In the midst of bold colors and chaos, big bold words hold a calm feeling. It lets the picture speak for itself, creating spaces to let viewers have a sense of calmness. Sometimes negative spaces allow us to breathe, and to take in images more intensely. Simple styles also guide the viewer's eyes to navigate through the magazine. I love this as I personally prefer a designer to guide my eyes when I read, so I’m able to take in the visual on it’s own.

Design #5:

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AaroFjJVob0X4oR6VojnB7JopZIO76rlhc3bicEcgDlekOodgh9J7hI/

Description:

Pictures hold a lot of meaning on their own, but with certain accentuated colors and bold fonts, the pictures can act as a subtext instead of the context. The title of the festival is accentuated with gold colors and the pictures are placed strategically so that the words do not cover the important parts of the picture. (face, scenery, etc) I like this poster as it clearly shows how thoughtful the designer was, and how quickly the title is sent to our eyes.
